Welcome
The Irish Jig Jog, to benefit St. Catherine of Siena School, will be held on Saturday September 12, 2009.
The race, which begins and ends at St. Catherine’s School located at Rt. 31 and Rt. 72 in West Dundee has attracted participants from babies in strollers to serious competitive runners.
This year the Jig Jog will offer three races:
Leprechaun Lap - a special short course race for children 5 years of age and under;
Shamrock Family Mile - a walk or run one mile event; and
5K Road Race - a race through the hills of West Dundee.
Wear your finest Irish attire to run, walk or cheer. Medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each age group.
Fun prizes also awarded for the most "Irish" runner and other categories.
While only in its fifth year, the Jig Jog expects to attract over 300 runners and walkers.
Proceeds from the 2008 race enabled the school to purchase new sports uniforms and equipment for its students.
We hope all race enthusiasts in the Fox Valley will take this opportunity to join in the fun and be a part of this fantastic community event!
Congratulations to Rebecca Plomero for this year's winning T-Shirt design. Rebecca will be an 8th grader this fall at St. Catherine of Siena.
